Call for Expression of Interest to Become a TRAPCA Associate

The Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (TRAPCA) is dedicated to enhancing the capacity of African countries to engage effectively in international trade. We aim to build a network of skilled professionals who can contribute to our mission through training, research, and policy advocacy. 

Objective:

The Centre is seeking expressions of interest from qualified trapca alumna to join us as TRAPCA Associates. This initiative aims to expand our pool of expertise and enhance our training programs, research projects, policy initiatives and help in delivering project objectives. 

Application Process:

Interested candidates should submit the following:

Educational Background: Applicants to give a relevant academic background, at least a Masters in International Trade Policy and Trade Law.

Professional Experience: Relevant work experience in trade policy, trade law, trade facilitation, economics, or related fields may be required or preferred. In addition, we may consider or include roles in government, NGOs, academia, or the private sector.

Motivation Statement: Applicants should submit a brief proposal (1-2 pages) outlining their interest in trade policy, their career goals, and how the opportunity aligns with those goals. In addition, applicants should indicate the value they wish to bring to trapca and why they should be considered.

Recommendations: Letters of recommendation from the employer, professionals or academics who can speak to the applicant’s qualifications and potential (a follow up may be done).

Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English or French (or other relevant languages) is a requirement. Working knowledge in either is an added advantage.

Commitment to Trade Policy and AfCFTA: A demonstrated interest in trade policy and its implications for development in Africa.

NB: Performance in trapca training shall weigh heavy in the selection process.

Deadline for Submission: All expressions of interest must be submitted by 31.12.2024.
