Course Justification and Objectives

The objective of the module is to introduce the student to key tools of analysis in common use among trade economists.  The topics covered include descriptive trade statistics, social accounting matrices and multiplier analysis, partial and general equilibrium analysis and linear regression models. The course also introduces students to panel data analysis, categorical dependent variables and the analysis of time series data. The course incorporates theory and computer based practical exercises.
