This is an advanced course is aimed at enhancing deeper understanding of the relationship between standards, environment and agriculture. This module is designed to offer an up-to-date overview of various policies in place across the world and their implications on African countries and further provide the basis for the pursuit of policy coherence. The module will have a particular focus on the interplay between standards and agriculture, and the environment and agriculture. In line with this, participants will be taken through the role of Standards & Technical Regulations in trade, the relationship between Trade and Environment, Agricultural trade and environmental sustainability and the impact of standards on agricultural trade.
