Dr.Caiphas Chekwoti is the Head of Centre at Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (TRAPCA), he has been instrumental in providing advanced training in trade policy, tools for trade policy analysis, trade in services, intellectual property, regional integration and trade facilitation as part of the tailored and academic components of the MSc in international trade policy and trade law offered by trapca. The training offered by TRAPCA at various levels has attracted over 10,000 officials from key ministries, departments and agencies dealing with AfCFTA in 43 African countries. The officials have undertaken relevant African centric academic and tailored trade courses. This has translated to a number of the trapca alumni being recruited or promoted to senior trade dockets in the regional economic communities and equally at national level. Currently, as head of trapca, he contributes to the successful implementation of the AfCFTA through equipping key officials with the requisite skills and competences needed to effectively undertake trade analysis, support the negotiations and implement the AfCFTA in their respective institutions and countries. Join Mokom Marcel Young and I in saluting this #afcfta hero Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (TRAPCA)
